Nasdaq (NQ) Order Blocks Strategy
Trading Nasdaq Futures (NQ) requires precision. It moves fast, sweeps liquidity aggressively, and respects institutional levels meticulously. If you want to trade NQ successfully, mastering the Order Block (OB) is mandatory.
What is an Order Block in NQ?
An Order Block is the last opposite-colored candle before a strong impulsive move that breaks market structure. In a bullish scenario, it's the last down candle before a massive rally. For NQ, these blocks act as magnets for future price retracements.
The NQ Order Block Strategy
Follow these steps to execute the strategy on the 5-minute or 15-minute timeframe:
- Wait for the Sweep: Let NQ sweep a previous session high or low.
- Look for Displacement: After the sweep, look for a sharp, aggressive move in the opposite direction.
- Identify the Order Block: Find the last candle prior to the displacement.
- Enter on Retest: Place your limit order at the open of the Order Block. Put your stop loss just past the wick.
Why NQ Respects Order Blocks
NQ is highly algorithmically driven. The "smart money" uses these specific price zones to mitigate their accumulated positions. By placing your entries where the algorithms are mitigating, you put the institutional edge in your favor.
